Burtness Engineering Services provides full range construction engineering services for residential, commercial and industrial plumbing, heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and mechanical engineering systems. In addition, we have a specialty area in commercial kitchen design.
As an example, our experience includes the construction administration of a major renovation/reconstruction project for a 6 story genetic engineering laboratory at the University of Illinois, Chicago campus, including the following tasks: construction observation of the installation, coordination, testing, balancing, calibration and adjustment of control components and systems for proper operation and energy conservation in several types of HVAC systems, including VAV and multi-zone and including HEPA filtration systems.
Burtness Engineering Services has a specialty in designing commercial kitchens, including working with the client to determine layout and selection of cooking and dish cleaning equipment, and specifying smoke and fire detection and extinguishing systems, range hood, makeup air, HVAC, electrical, and domestic plumbing systems.
